Iced Coffee, The Wunderground Way
It’s officially midsummer, which means… things are heating up. From sweltering temps to high humidity, the heat can feel a little unbearable. But before you hit up your grocery store’s freezer section for relief, you might want to turn to your mushroom friends. An iced version of your fave coffee is just what you need for that summer heat. We’re here to show you how to make it the Wunderground way.
If you’re asking “wait, but couldn’t I just pour my normal coffee over ice?” you’re going to want to trust the process on this one. Technically, you could do that, but it wouldn’t taste as good (it gets super diluted, which means less of that delicious coffee flavor).
Alright, here goes!
First things first: make sure you’re stocked up on the best coffee for summer: Hocus Pocus. There’s nothing better for firing up those creative juices, finding a nice sense of calm, and boosting the immune system (which, when it comes to summer travel and vacations, is KEY). We’ll be sipping this on every beach day and at every BBQ until fall rolls around.
The most delicious iced coffee is made overnight, so get your supplies together the evening before you’re ready to sip your way to wunder. You’ll need:
- Two jars
- A coffee filter
- 1 and ½ cups of cold water
- ⅓ cup Hocus Pocus coffee
- A spoon (or some sort of stirring utensil!)
- Ice cubes
- Your favorite milk
Okay, ready? Here’s what you’ll do next:
- Add the coffee and cold water to the jar and mix together
- Add the lid and tighten
- Place your coffee in the fridge overnight
The Next Morning
- Strain your coffee using a coffee filter (you can place it over the second jar!)
- Add your iced coffee to a glass with ice cubes and your favorite milk
- Your iced coffee is ready to sip!
See? That was pretty simple, and the result couldn’t be better: wunder-inducing deliciousness.
While we think Hocus Pocus wins the award for summer’s best iced coffee, making yours with Brainchild will do the trick on those days when you wish you were lounging on the beach, but are really at your desk. It’s just as tasty, but with a little more cardio for your noggin. Follow the same steps, and drink up! Take that, to-do list.
